This smoothie totally tastes like strawberry lemonade and guess what?! No added sugar. Yes you heard me correctly, there is plenty of sweetness in this smoothie from the strawberries. I never add in any extra sugar or sweeteners to my smoothies, I mean I’m not sure if this is true for all of you or not, but when I make a smoothie I’m making it for a healthier option for breakfast or lunch, not as a means to add unneeded sugar to my body. But that’s just my view.
I made this smoothie the other day when my mom was over and she thought it was a slam dunk. My little guy did too. He was sucking it down like nobody’s business! Nothing makes me happier than when my little guy getsso excited about something that I made, even something as simple as this smoothie. I mean he does get excited when I cut up an apple or peel a clememtine for him, but hey he likes mamma’s cookin’!
You’ve probably noticed that this is what, my third smoothie post in the last month? I can’t help myself, I’ve been on a smoothie kick and I’m having fun playing with flavor combinations. There will be plenty more smoothie recipes in the near future. Just think of it as perfecting the recipes before summer arrives, when all you want is something cold.
This strawberry lemonade smoothie needs just what it says, strawberries and lemons; with a little bit of greek yogurt and almond milk to make it creamy. You can substitute the almond milk with soy, cows or any other type of milk that you prefer.
This strawberry lemonade smoothie recipe makes a slightly larger smoothie than my other recipes, so if you aren’t in the mood for a jumbo smoothie this one is great for sharing.
